Scrimshaw Pilsner is a masterclass in the German Pils style, emphasizing European tradition through a refined grain bill and noble hops. The use of Munich malt provides a delicate toasted cracker and honey backbone, while Hallertauer and Tettnang hops contribute a sophisticated, subtle spicy and herbal aroma. Brilliantly clear and refreshing, it offers a crisp, clean palate that transitions seamlessly into a snappy, dry finish. It avoids the heaviness of industrial lagers, instead delivering a nuanced balance of light malt sweetness and firm, floral bitterness that defines its classic maritime-inspired character.
Appearance. Brilliant, pale gold to deep yellow in color. Features a thick, creamy white head with excellent retention and fine, delicate lacing.
Aroma. Moderate intensity with a prominent spicy and herbal hop character from the Hallertauer and Tettnang additions. Beneath the hops lies a light, doughy, and toasted cracker malt profile attributed to the Munich malt. Fermentation is exceptionally clean with no detectable esters or diacetyl.
