This Hazy IPA showcases the evolution of the style, presenting a lush and opaque profile. The aromatic intensity is driven by a layered blend of Enigma, Simcoe, and Ekuanot hops, which project a saturated bouquet of ripe melon, stone fruits, and bright citrus. While the fruit character is dominant, Simcoe introduces a nuanced layer of earthy pine that provides depth. The malt base provides a soft, bready foundation, allowing the sweet fruit notes to shine through a creamy, pillowy texture. It concludes with a gentle, resinous finish and a subtle alcohol warmth, epitomizing the soft and juice-like character expected from a modern classic.
Appearance. Deep straw to light orange (5-6 SRM) with a distinct, opaque haze and a luminous shine. Supports a thick, white, meringue-like head with high retention and persistent lacing.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma with dominant notes of cantaloupe melon, peach, and citrus. Supporting notes of resinous pine and a light earthiness are present. The malt character is low, presenting as clean, grainy, and lightly bready. Fermentation is clean with neutral to slightly fruity esters.
Taste. High hop flavor featuring a mix of tropical fruit, melon, and stone fruit. Bitterness is low to moderate and characteristically soft, balanced by a low, grainy-sweet malt presence. The finish is off-dry and smooth, lacking any harshness or sharp hop bite, with a lingering fruity and slightly resinous aftertaste.
