Imperial IPA 8 º
Aurora is an intensely vibrant Double IPA that presents a global hop showcase. The addition of Motueka delivers bright lime zest and lemongrass accents, while Galaxy imparts deep notes of passionfruit and peach. Mosaic rounds out the profile with guava, orange, and tangerine, creating a complex fruit salad sensory experience. Despite its 8% ABV, the beer maintains a lean, supportive malt backbone that allows the tropical and citrus hop character to shine. This high-intensity ale finishes dry with a clean bitterness, balancing the lush fruit esters with a crisp, refreshing quality characteristic of modern interpretations of the style.
Appearance. Gold to light orange-copper (6–12 SRM). Features a moderate-sized, persistent, off-white head with good lacing. Good clarity, though a very slight hop-derived haze is acceptable.
Aroma. Intense hop-forward aroma featuring tropical fruits like passionfruit and guava alongside citrus notes of lime and orange. Supportive, clean, neutral to grainy maltiness in the background. Fermentation profile is clean with very low fruity esters and a light, well-integrated alcohol note.
Taste. Strong and complex hop flavors of peach, lime, and tangerine dominate. Moderately high to high bitterness that is firm but not harsh. Low, clean, supportive malt character with a dry to medium-dry finish. Lingering hoppy, bitter aftertaste with a clean, smooth alcohol flavor.
Mouthfeel. Medium body with a smooth texture. Medium-high carbonation. No harsh hop-derived astringency. Restrained, smooth alcohol warmth is present but not solventy.
