At 11% ABV, Maestro is a commanding Imperial Stout that achieves a masterful balance between intensity and grace. The sensory experience is anchored by a deep core of dark chocolate and bittersweet cocoa, reflecting a heavy hand of roasted malts. High esters present as lush, ripe cherries, providing a bright counterpoint to the velvet-like, ink-black depths. This harmonious composition flows from initial notes of roasted grain into a resonant, warming finish where the alcohol integrates seamlessly with the malt structure. It is a bold, orchestral beer that favors complexity and smoothness over aggressive harshness.
Appearance. Jet black and opaque (40 SRM). Features a dense, deep tan head with moderate retention and thick, oily legs that cling to the glass due to high viscosity.
Aroma. High intensity with a rich blend of bittersweet chocolate, espresso-like roast, and dark caramel. Pronounced fruity esters of ripe cherries and dried plums meld with a smooth, slightly vinous alcohol warmth and a very low, earthy hop note.
Taste. Intense and complex, opening with deep chocolate and toasted bread flavors. Mid-palate introduces vibrant notes of ripe cherries and black currants.
