This Belgian Golden Strong Ale from Nomade Brewery delivers a masterclass in deceptive strength and elegant complexity. At 8.5% ABV, it presents a bright, effervescent profile defined by a sophisticated bouquet of pome fruit—most notably ripe pear—complemented by floral and herbal hop notes. Aroma. High intensity of fruity esters, specifically pear and green apple. Low to moderate herbal and floral hop character. Clean, grainy-sweet malt is present but secondary. Noticeable but soft peppery alcohol and spicy phenols provide complexity without being solventy.
Taste. Initial impression is a blend of pear-like esters and soft, bready malt. This is followed by a rising herbal hop flavor and a medium-high bitterness that is accentuated by the beer's dryness. Mouthfeel. Light to medium body, feeling much lighter than its gravity suggests. Highly carbonated and effervescent. Smooth but prominent alcohol warmth is present without any harsh fusel edges or astringency.
