Nómada Royal Porter Cocoa & Coffee
This Imperial Porter presents a luxurious sensory profile defined by its potent additions of cocoa and coffee. The aroma is dominated by rich espresso and dark chocolate, layered over a robust base of roasted malts. On the palate, the coffee provides a roasted bitterness that perfectly balances the decadent, velvety sweetness of the cocoa. Deep notes of dark fruits and molasses emerge from the high-gravity fermentation, while a significant alcohol presence provides a comforting warmth. The finish is long and complex, highlighting the harmony between the earthy coffee beans and the bittersweet cacao nibs within the bold Imperial Porter framework.
Appearance. Opaque black (SRM 40+). Topped with a dense, persistent tan to mocha-colored head that leaves thick lacing on the glass.
Aroma. High intensity. Dominant aromas of freshly roasted coffee beans and dark chocolate are supported by rich roasted malt characters. Subtle notes of plum and raisin esters are present, with very low earthy hop aroma and no detectable dimethyl sulfide.
Taste. Initial impression of sweet dark chocolate and toasted bread, followed by a sharp, roasted coffee punch. Medium-high bitterness is derived from both the charred malts and the coffee. The finish is moderately sweet but balanced by roast, featuring lingering notes of espresso and bittersweet cocoa with low hop flavor.
Mouthfeel. Full, viscous body with a creamy, velvety texture. Moderate carbonation. Significant alcohol warmth is present but well-integrated, with low astringency despite the heavy roasted additions.
