Nómada Petrolaco is a decadent Imperial Stout that pours a viscous, jet-black, topped with a dense, mocha-colored head. The sensory experience is dominated by an intense aromatic profile of freshly roasted coffee and bittersweet dark chocolate. On the palate, the inclusion of oatmeal and lactose creates a luxuriously creamy and velvety texture that carries deep roasted grains and a gentle, milk-like sweetness. Despite its potent 10.2% ABV, the alcohol warmth remains integrated and smooth, balancing the moderate bitterness. This harmonious blend of coffee intensity and silky mouthfeel results in an indulgent, lingering finish of cocoa and espresso.
Appearance.SRM 40+. Opaque, jet black. Thick, persistent deep tan head with excellent lacing. High viscosity produces visible legs on the glass.
Aroma.High intensity. Pronounced notes of dark-roasted coffee and cocoa powder dominate. Background layers of black currant esters, light caramel, and a sweet, creamy character from lactose. Alcohol is present but smooth, lacking solvent notes.
Taste.Initial impression is rich and sweet, followed by intense flavors of espresso and dark chocolate. The roasted grain character is smooth rather than acrid. Moderate bitterness provides balance against the residual sugars from the milk stout influence. The finish is long and warming with a lingering bittersweet mocha aftertaste.
Mouthfeel.Full-bodied and chewy with a lush, velvety texture derived from the oatmeal and lactose. Low to moderate carbonation. Noticeable, smooth alcohol warmth provides a pleasant glow without being harsh.
