Nómada Marabunta is an assertive Double IPA that prioritizes hop intensity over malt depth. This pale gold ale pours with a structured white head, releasing a massive aromatic bouquet. The sensory experience is dominated by a resinous and herbal core that quickly transitions into a vibrant cascade of tropical fruit notes. Expect vivid impressions of mango and lychee, which broaden into stone fruit characters of apricot and peach. Despite its 7.5% ABV, it remains light and dry on the palate, delivering an extremely high bitterness that lingers extensively, embodying an aggressive yet fresh hop character that is both complex and intensely aromatic.
Appearance. Pale gold color (approx. 6 SRM); clear with a well-structured, persistent white head that leaves significant lacing.
Aroma. High to intense hop aroma characterized by a complex blend of resinous pine, fresh herbs, and a potent tropical fruit medley of mango and lychee. A low, neutral grainy malt presence remains in the background. Clean fermentation profile with a subtle hint of alcohol warmth.
Taste. Initial impression is a sharp, clean hop-forward punch. Dominant flavors of resin and herbs evolve rapidly into tropical mango and lychee. The malt flavor is low and unobtrusive, providing a clean foundation for the very high bitterness. The finish is notably dry and fresh, culminating in a long-lingering aftertaste of stone fruits like apricot and peach.
Mouthfeel. Medium-light body with a smooth texture. Carbonation is moderate-high, enhancing the fresh sensation. Alcohol warmth is light and well-integrated. Lacks harsh hop-derived astringency despite the high bitterness levels.
