This Belgian Blond Ale pays homage to traditional Franco-Belgian methods, presenting a brilliant golden pour. The sensory experience is led by a distinctive biscuit-like malt foundation, reminiscent of freshly baked crackers and toasted grains. Interwoven with this malty sweetness are notes of ripe orchard fruits and a sophisticated layer of earthy spices and subtle toasted nuts. A refined yeast character introduces subtle peppery phenols and citrus esters that brighten the palate. Despite its sweetish initial impression, the finish remains smooth and soft, balanced by a well-integrated alcohol presence that reflects its traditional craftsmanship and moderate strength.
Appearance. Deep gold color (approximately 6 SRM) with brilliant clarity. Features a large, dense, and creamy off-white head with excellent retention and characteristic Belgian lacing.
Aroma. Moderate intensity with a grainy-sweet, biscuit-like, and slightly toasty malt character. Features moderate fruity esters suggesting ripe pear and orange, complemented by light peppery phenols and a hint of earthy spices. A subtle, clean, perfumy alcohol note is present.
Taste. Initial grainy-sweet malt flavor with biscuit and honey-like sweetness on the palate. Moderate esters of orange and lemon are balanced by light spicy-peppery phenols and a touch of nuttiness. Medium bitterness provides balance, though the profile leans slightly toward the malt. The finish is medium-dry and smooth, with a soft, lingering aftertaste of light alcohol and grain.
Mouthfeel. Medium body with medium-high to high carbonation, creating a bubbly and mouth-filling sensation. Smooth, noticeable alcohol warmth is present without being harsh. Texture is somewhat creamy with no astringency.
