Helios is a vibrant Hazy IPA that showcases a heavy-hitting collaboration focused on "dank" aromatic depth. The sensory profile is dominated by the complex interplay of Nelson Sauvin, Enigma, and Strata, offering an intense bouquet of white grape, tropical melon, and pungent resin. The use of Nelson Sauvin Hyperboost elevates the aromatic intensity, delivering concentrated notes of passionfruit and gooseberry that lead into a plush, velvety palate. Against a soft, bready malt backdrop, the hop character transitions from juice-forward sweetness to a structured, dank finish that lingers with a refined, resinous bite, perfectly capturing the modern juicy yet pungent aesthetic.
Appearance. 3-5 SRM. Pours a saturated, hazy straw gold with a luminous, opaque sheen. It is topped by a dense, rocky, meringue-like white head that demonstrates exceptional retention and leaves thick, attractive lacing.
Aroma. High to very high intensity. Dominant notes of pungent resin and "dank" hemp are layered over tropical passionfruit, crushed white grapes, and subtle red berry. The malt character is low, presenting as neutral, bready, and slightly grainy. Fruity fermentation esters are present and well-integrated with the hop-derived fruitiness.
Taste. Initial impression is an explosion of tropical fruit and white wine character. High hop flavors of gooseberry, melon, and citrus are supported by a soft, bready malt backbone. Bitterness is moderate but feels restrained due to the full body, finishing with a clean, lingering resinous hop character. The fermentation profile is neutral to slightly fruity, ensuring the focus remains on the complex hop blend.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a soft, pillowy, and smooth texture. Carbonation is moderate. There is a light, well-integrated alcohol warmth consistent with its strength, but the finish is free of hop harshness, astringency, or a raw starch texture.
