The use of oatmeal creates a luxurious, velvety foundation that supports intense layers of freshly ground espresso and bittersweet dark chocolate. On the nose, high-intensity aromas of roasted coffee beans intermingle with subtle hints of black currant and dried plum. The palate is defined by a deep, roasty bitterness and a controlled sweetness evocative of cocoa and black licorice. A gentle, integrated alcohol warmth develops through the finish, accompanied by a persistent coffee aftertaste that perfectly balances the chewy, full-bodied texture.
Appearance. Jet black and completely opaque. It supports a persistent, dense dark tan head with excellent retention and thick lacing. High viscosity is evident in the glass.
Aroma. High intensity, dominated by rich roasted coffee and dark chocolate. Supportive notes of toasted grain and light caramel. Low dark fruit esters resembling raisins and plums are present. Hop character is very low and earthy, while alcohol provides a clean, subtle warmth.
