Nix Velwit is a luminous and refreshing Witbier, characterized by its pale, hazy appearance and lively effervescence. The grist of unmalted wheat and oat creates a smooth, bready malt foundation with whispers of honey and vanilla. Aromatic coriander and bitter orange peel, added late in the boil, provide a bright citrus zest and herbal complexity that integrates perfectly with delicate yeast esters. It strikes a beautiful balance between soft malt textures and a crisp, dry finish. With low bitterness and a light, creamy mouthfeel, this ale is a classic expression of the style’s bright and spicy personality.

Appearance. Very pale straw (3 SRM) with a milky, whitish-yellow cloudiness from starch haze. Crowned by a dense, white, moussy head with excellent retention.

Aroma. Moderate intensity with bready, grainy malt and light notes of vanilla. High citrus character from zesty, bitter orange peel, accompanied by a perfumy, lemony coriander and light herbal spice from Belgian yeast esters.

Taste. Pleasant bready, grainy malt flavor initially, followed by moderate zesty orange and spicy-herbal coriander. Hop bitterness is low, providing a crisp counterpoint to the malt. Finishes very dry and refreshing with a lingering citrus note.

Mouthfeel. Medium-light body with a characteristic smoothness and light creaminess derived from the unmalted wheat and oat. High carbonation provides an effervescent, prickly sensation with no alcohol warmth or astringency.
