This Double IPA presents a powerful sensory experience defined by a massive foundation of various Oat varietals, creating a plush, substantial texture. The hop profile is intensely aromatic, bursting with nectarous citrus and ripe tropical fruit notes. Vibrant scents of orange marmalade and fresh sweetgrass lead into a complex palate where tangerine and sugared grapefruit dominate. The high alcohol content is well-integrated, providing a smooth backdrop for sharp sweet tart and tangelo flavors. It concludes with a clean, lingering bitterness characteristic of the style, balancing the rich, oat-driven body against a bright, fruity hop finish.
Appearance. Deep gold to light orange-copper (SRM 7-10). It displays moderate clarity with a slight haze expected from the high oat content. A thick, persistent, off-white head leaves significant lacing as it recedes.
Aroma. Intense aromatics featuring a complex blend of tropical fruit and citrus. Prominent notes of orange marmalade and ripe mango are complemented by a distinct sweetgrass herbaceousness. A low, clean, grainy malt presence from the oats provides a soft background, with no harsh solventy alcohol notes despite the strength.
Taste. The flavor starts with a burst of tangerine and tangelo, followed by a mid-palate of sugared grapefruit and zesty lime. A firm, moderately high bitterness is present but remains smooth rather than harsh. The malt character is soft and bready, serving as a neutral platform for the hop intensity. It finishes medium-dry with a long, resinous, and fruity aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a notable silkiness and creaminess derived from the extensive use of oats. Carbonation is moderate to medium-high. A gentle, integrated alcohol warmth is perceptible, enhancing the richness without adding astringency.

Ashurnasirpal II and his son Shalmaneser III were ruthless military conquerors who became infamous for their treatments of conquered cities. Burning, Decapitating, Flaying their enemies alive and nailing their skin to the city walls were their preferred methods. The rebelling city of Ki-ka and their leader suffered one of the most merciless displays of such cruelty. After making the leader (Ahuni, son of Adini) watch the decapitation of all his soldiers, he was Flayed alive, then his skin pinned to the city wall before they proceeded to set the city ablaze with the women and children inside.
