North Boat is a refined modern Session IPA that showcases the unique heritage of Bere barley as a foundational platform for vibrant hop aromatics. This collaboration delivers a crisp, pale gold pour with a bouquet of bright citrus, tropical fruit, and delicate floral notes. The ancient Bere barley contributes a distinctive, clean, and slightly nutty grain character that supports the assertive but approachable bitterness typical of an American IPA. Its lean, effervescent body and dry finish ensure high drinkability while maintaining the complexity of a well-crafted hop-forward ale, bridging traditional Scottish ingredients with contemporary hop expression.

Appearance. Pale gold to medium gold (6-8 SRM); brilliant clarity with a persistent, frothy white head that leaves delicate lacing on the glass.

Aroma. High hop intensity featuring notes of grapefruit peel, mango, and a hint of resinous pine. The malt presence is low but notable, offering a clean, grainy, and slightly toasted aroma from the Bere barley. Clean fermentation profile with very low fruity esters.

Taste. The initial impression is hop-forward with flavors of citrus and tropical fruit, followed by a firm, clean bitterness. The malt flavor is supportive and grainy, emphasizing the heritage Bere barley without cloying sweetness. Finishes medium-dry with a lingering, hoppy aftertaste of citrus pith and floral notes.

Mouthfeel. Medium-light body with a smooth, crisp texture. Moderate-high carbonation provides a lively, refreshing mouthfeel. No alcohol warmth or astringency present.
