Newbarns Brewery's Festival Bier is an elegant showcase of malt complexity, crafted from a mega-blend of ten heritage barley varieties. This golden Festbier radiates with a deep toasty and doughy richness, reflecting the brewery's dedication to forgotten grains. On the palate, the intricate grain bill delivers a soft, bready sweetness balanced by subtle herbal and floral hop notes. It remains impeccably clean and well-attenuated, offering a smooth, slightly creamy texture that emphasizes drinkability. The finish is crisp and malty, a refined celebration of heritage ingredients that elevates the classic festival lager profile into a deeply layered sensory experience.

Appearance. Deep gold color (5 SRM) with brilliant clarity. Topped by a persistent, fine-textured white foam stand that exhibits excellent head retention and moderate lacing.

Aroma. Moderate malty richness with a focused emphasis on toasty and bread-dough aromatics. Low herbal and spicy hop character. Fermentation is very clean, lacking any yeast-derived esters or phenolics.

Taste. Initial malt-forward impression of fresh bread and toasted heritage grain. Medium-low bitterness provides supportive balance to the rich malt profile. Low floral and spicy hop flavors. The finish is well-attenuated and crisp, leaving a lingering, clean malty aftertaste.

Mouthfeel. Medium body with a smooth, somewhat creamy texture and moderate carbonation. Alcohol warmth is very low and well-integrated, providing a gentle presence without any harshness.
