This American IPA offers a vibrant sensory profile defined by its generous use of American hops. The aromatic experience is led by bold notes of zesty grapefruit and ripe cantaloupe, supported by a clean fermentation profile. The strategic addition of malted wheat and flaked wheat provides a subtle, bready foundation and a soft, approachable texture that balances the firm hop presence. It drinks with a refreshing brightness, delivering a hop-forward character that lingers pleasantly. Appearance. Medium gold (7 SRM) with a very slight haze. Features a large, frothy, white head with excellent persistence and significant lacing on the glass.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring prominent notes of pink grapefruit and sweet cantaloupe melon. Low, clean, grainy maltiness with a subtle bready character from the wheat; fermentation profile is neutral with no significant esters.
Taste. Initial impression is hop-forward with intense flavors of grapefruit peel and melon. Medium-high bitterness is firm but clean, supported by a low, grainy malt backbone. The finish is medium-dry and crisp, leading to a lingering, hoppy aftertaste with minimal yeast character.
Mouthfeel. Medium body with a smooth, slightly creamy texture derived from the flaked wheat. Moderate-high carbonation creates a lively mouthfeel. Very light, smooth alcohol warmth is present at 6.5% ABV.
