This massive Spice, Herb, or Vegetable Beer represents an opulent marriage of extended barrel aging and decadent adjuncts. The sensory profile is saturated with the fragrance of Hunter Bay Coffee and deep, earthy Ghana Cocoa Nibs, underpinned by a potent Kentucky Bourbon presence. On the palate, a thick, motor-oil viscosity carries layers of dark chocolate, toasted oak, and rich vanilla. The Imperial Stout base provides a sturdy foundation of charred grain and molasses, while the nearly forty-month slumber in wood introduces a sophisticated oxidation reminiscent of vintage port. Each sip concludes with a long, velvety warmth and a lingering essence of espresso and bittersweet chocolate.
Appearance. Opaque jet black (SRM 40+). A dense, mocha-colored head forms briefly, leaving a thin collar and oily legs on the glass with minimal lacing due to high alcohol and oils.
