This English Barley Wine collaboration presents a decadent sensory profile defined by its complex barrel treatment. A blend of liquids aged in Port and Cognac-finished bourbon barrels yields an intricate layer of dark fruit and vinous character over a sturdy base of British pale ale and crystal malts. The aroma reveals deep toffee, raisin, and plum, accented by the spirited warmth of the 14.11% ABV. On the palate, a velvety, chewy body carries flavors of rich caramel and toasted bread, complemented by oxidative notes of aged sherry and subtle oak. The finish is lingering and luscious, balanced by a soft, earthy hop character.
Appearance. Deep mahogany to dark brown with ruby highlights; brilliant clarity. Pours with a thin, tan head that shows low retention and creates viscous legs on the glass, indicating high gravity.
