Krisp reimagines the classic Czech Premium Pale Lager through the lens of wild fermentation. The infusion of 10 g/L Saaz hops provides a signature spicy and floral herbal bouquet, intertwined with the bready, rich malt character typical of Bohemian pilsners. Nevel’s wild house culture adds a layer of rustic complexity, introducing earthy notes and subtle fruity esters that deviate from traditional clean lagers while maintaining a cold-fermented crispness. The result is a balanced, deep gold lager where the soft bitterness of the Saaz hops meets a gentle, wild-influenced funk, offering a sophisticated, rounded finish with a distinctively artisanal edge.
Appearance. Deep gold color (SRM 5-6). Large, dense, creamy white head with excellent persistence and moderate lacing. Slight haze typical of an unfiltered, yeast-forward wild lager.
Aroma. Moderate intensity featuring rich, bready malt and a pronounced hop bouquet of spicy and floral Saaz hops. Nevel's wild culture introduces a secondary layer of light earthy funk, mild hay, and subtle stone fruit esters, adding depth without overshadowing the lager base.
Taste. Initial bready, biscuit-like malt sweetness gives way to a firm but rounded hop bitterness. High hop flavor of spice and dried flowers from the Saaz additions. The wild fermentation adds a faint rustic tartness and complex fermentation character. Finishes dry and crisp with lingering herbal notes and a clean, balanced aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium body with a soft, rounded texture from traditional water treatment. Moderate carbonation. Very light alcohol warmth at 5.6%, with a smooth, non-astringent mouthfeel.
