Clouded Reflection is a refined Saison that marries the rustic complexity of barrel aging with a vibrant botanical profile. This wild blond ale opens with a bright, citrusy bouquet of lemongrass and Dutch and American Cascade hops, layered over the earthy depth of angelica. The fermentation provides a dry, spicy foundation, further elevated by a delicate heat from ginger. Expect a marriage of wood-derived tannins and a tart, wild yeast character that complements the grainy malt base. This collaboration with Afterthought delivers a highly attenuated, effervescent experience where floral hop notes and botanical aromatics converge into a crisp, lingering finish.

Appearance. Luminous pale gold (6 SRM) with a persistent, rocky ivory head leaving dense Belgian lace. The beer exhibits a moderate haze consistent with its unfiltered, wild-fermented nature.

Aroma. High intensity aromatics lead with fresh lemongrass and grapefruit-like Cascade hops. Mid-tones reveal spicy ginger and the unique, musky-earthy scent of angelica root. Fermentation notes are complex, featuring peppery phenols, pome fruit esters, and a hint of rustic wood and wild funk.

Taste. The initial impression is bone-dry and refreshingly tart. Lemongrass and citrusy hop flavors are prominent, supported by a subtle, spicy ginger warmth. Malt is low and grainy, providing a lean backdrop for moderate bitterness and botanical complexity. The finish is exceptionally dry and crisp, with lingering earthy herbs and floral hop notes.

Mouthfeel. Medium-light body with very high, effervescent carbonation. There is a light, pleasant astringency from the barrel aging and botanicals. Alcohol warmth is very low and well-integrated, contributing to a clean, brisk mouthfeel.
