This Imperial Stout is an exercise in decadence, merging a robust, roasty base with layers of indulgent adjuncts. The aroma is dominated by home toasted coconut, offering a nutty sweetness that intertwines with the rich, woody character of bourbon barrels. On the palate, intense notes of bittersweet chocolate and espresso are elevated by the earthy, velvety presence of maple syrup. The barrel aging imparts deep vanilla and charred oak nuances, while the 12.7% ABV provides a sophisticated, smooth warmth. Complex and harmonious, it finishes with a lingering interplay of dark malt bitterness and dessert-like sweetness.

Appearance. SRM 40+; jet black and completely opaque. It pours with a thick, deep tan head that shows moderate to low retention, leaving viscous legs on the glass indicative of its high gravity and coconut oils.

Aroma. High intensity. A complex bouquet of dark chocolate, roasted coffee, and molasses is augmented by a heavy presence of toasted coconut and sweet vanilla. The bourbon barrel contributes charred oak and a touch of spirituous warmth, while the maple syrup adds a subtle, earthy richness. Low dark fruit esters like prunes and raisins.

Taste. Rich and intensely flavored. The initial impression is of sweet maple and toasted coconut, quickly followed by a massive malt backbone of dark cocoa and burnt grain. The bourbon barrels provide layers of caramel, vanilla, and oak tannin. Bitterness is moderate to firm but remains in the background of the sweet, syrupy richness. The finish is long and warming with a lingering coconut and chocolate aftertaste.

Mouthfeel. Full to very full-bodied with a chewy, luscious, and velvety texture. Carbonation is low, enhancing the beer's creamy weight. A noticeable but well-integrated alcohol warmth glows in the throat without being harsh.
