This massive Imperial Stout presents an opulent sensory experience, defined by its formidable 14.5% ABV and a decadent blend of adjuncts. Deeply roasted malts provide a foundation of bittersweet chocolate and espresso, which is seamlessly interwoven with the savory, oily richness of Roasted Peanuts. The Mulato Chili provides a sophisticated layer of dried fruit, leather, and mild tobacco, accompanied by a gentle, glowing heat rather than sharp spice. Aromas of black cherry and licorice arise from the dark fruit esters, while the palate is remarkably viscous. A lingering finish of cocoa and toasted nuts rounds out this complex, harmonious, and intensely warming collaboration.

Appearance. Jet black and completely opaque. Pours with a thick, dense, dark mocha-colored head that exhibits moderate retention and leaves heavy, oily legs on the glass as it is swirled.

Aroma. High intensity; deep layers of dark chocolate, roasted coffee, and molasses. Distinctive earthy and nutty notes from Roasted Peanuts are prominent, complemented by the leathery, raisin-like character of Mulato Chili. Esters of prune and black currant blend with a noticeable but smooth alcohol presence.

Taste. Intense initial impact of Dutch cocoa and roasted grain. The middle reveals a creamy, savory roasted peanut richness, balanced by the complex, fruity bitterness of Mulato Chili. Hop bitterness is firm but softened by significant residual malt sweetness. The finish is long and bittersweet, showcasing lingering notes of charred grain, dark fruit, and a subtle chili tingle.

Mouthfeel. Very full-bodied and chewy with a luscious, velvety texture and high viscosity. Carbonation is low. Significant alcohol warmth is present, providing a soothing sensation that is well-integrated and not solventy.
