This Dunkles Bock presents a masterclass in malt depth, celebrating German heritage with a robust profile centered on Munich and Vienna malts. The experience begins with a comforting aroma of toasted bread and deep Maillard richness. On the palate, expect a luxurious tapestry of toffee and sweet malt, accented by the brewery’s signature touch of mild roastiness that adds complexity without harshness. The finish is remarkably smooth and well-attenuated, allowing a gentle alcohol warmth to linger alongside a clean lager character. With minimal hop interference, the focus remains entirely on the decadent, toasty malt core, providing a rich and satisfying drinking experience.

Appearance. Deep copper to dark brown with prominent garnet highlights (14–22 SRM). It maintains excellent clarity under a large, creamy, and persistent off-white head that leaves delicate lacing.

Aroma. Moderate to high intensity of rich, bready malt. Strong Maillard products dominate, offering scents of toasted crusts and hints of dark toffee. Hop aroma is absent, while the fermentation is clean with just a faint suggestion of dark fruit esters and a subtle alcoholic presence.

Taste. Initial impression is one of complex, rich maltiness. Flavors of toasty bread and rich toffee are primary, supported by a very mild, smooth roastiness. Hop bitterness is low, providing just enough balance to prevent cloying sweetness without introducing hop flavor. The finish is clean and lingering with a malty-sweet aftertaste that remains balanced.

Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a smooth, slightly creamy texture. Carbonation is moderate to moderately low, enhancing the beer’s richness. A pleasant, integrated alcohol warmth is noticeable but remains smooth and never harsh.
