Nepo Brewing - Nepomucen

This Polish Champagne is reimagined through a modern lens, blending traditional oak-smoked wheat malt with a vibrant hop profile. The classic Grodziskie base offers a clean, pale foundation for the unmistakable aroma of campfire and smoked ham. Citra and Simcoe hops introduce a bold layer of grapefruit, lime, and resinous pine, while Tomyski hops provide a grounded, herbal background. This sessionable ale balances its delicate wheat sweetness against a crisp bitterness and a bone-dry finish. Effervescent and incredibly refreshing, it honors historical roots while delivering a contemporary tropical and citrus-forward sensory experience.

Appearance. Very pale straw (2–3 SRM). Brilliant clarity with a tall, billowy, snowy white head that displays exceptional retention and leaves delicate lacing on the glass.

Aroma. Moderate to high intensity. A distinctive oak smoke character leads, reminiscent of campfire or smoked meats, integrated with bright citrus notes of grapefruit and lime from Citra. Underlying pine and passionfruit accents from Simcoe follow, supported by a subtle, clean, grainy wheat malt presence.

Taste. The initial impression is crisp and smoky. Oak-smoked malt flavors are balanced by a moderate bitterness. Hop flavors are prominent, featuring lemon zest, resinous pine, and herbal tones from the Tomyski hops. It finishes extremely dry and clean, with a lingering smoky and citrusy aftertaste.

Mouthfeel. Light body with very high, prickly carbonation that provides a champagne-like effervescence. No alcohol warmth is perceived. Refreshing and crisp without any smoke-derived astringency.

Cómo es la Grodziskie – Este es un estilo elaborado típicamente con malta de trigo ahumada sobre roble . La cerveza es de color dorado, con una alta carbonatación y un bajo contenido alcohólico (desde 2,5% a 5% vol.). El amargor del lúpulo es bajo y tanto en aroma como en sabor las notas ahumadas son las predominantes. La textura es crujiente y de cuerpo ligero, lo que la llevó a ser apodada con el sobrenombre de “champagne polaco”. Debido a su alta calidad solía ser empleada en eventos y ocasiones especiales.
