Neepsend Alcis is a vibrant and quenching Session American IPA designed for high drinkability. It features a punchy, hop-forward profile led by the classic combination of Citra and Mosaic hops. The sensory experience is defined by a burst of ripe mango, passion fruit, and zesty grapefruit. A lean, pale malt base provides a clean canvas, allowing the vibrant New World hop character to take center stage without being overshadowed by heavy sugars. Light-bodied and refreshing, it finishes with a crisp, clean bitterness that highlights the citrus and tropical fruit aromatics characteristic of its hop bill.
Appearance. Pale gold to light amber (4–7 SRM). Generally clear, though a very light haze is acceptable. Features a medium-sized, frothy white head with good persistence and light lacing.
Aroma. High intensity aromatics dominated by Citra and Mosaic hops. Prominent notes of crushed pineapple, tangerine, and blueberry. A low, clean, grainy-sweet maltiness provides a subtle foundation. Fermentation is clean with very low fruity esters, allowing the tropical and citrus hop oils to remain the focus.
Taste. Initial impression is a bright burst of citrus zest and tropical fruit. Strong flavors of grapefruit, melon, and stone fruit from the hops. Low grainy-malt flavor provides support without adding significant sweetness. Medium-high bitterness is firm but well-integrated. The finish is dry and crisp with a lingering, pleasant hoppy aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Light to medium-light body with a smooth, refreshing texture. Moderate to high carbonation provides a lively, quenching mouthfeel. No alcohol warmth is perceived, and there is no detectable astringency.
