Naparbier Meloi reimagines the classic Berliner Weisse as a potent, 'Imperial' expression, trading low-alcohol sessionability for a robust 7% ABV frame. This vibrant sour ale leads with the lush, musky perfume of fresh Cantaloupe Melon, which integrates seamlessly with a sharp, clean lactic acidity. A foundation of doughy wheat malt provides a soft, bready structure that supports the fruit without overshadowing it. Effervescent and bright, the sensory profile is dominated by tart lemon and ripe melon notes, concluding in a bone-dry finish that belies its strength. It is a bold, fruity exploration of the style’s acidic potential.

Appearance. Straw to pale gold (3-4 SRM) with a notable hazy opacity from the fruit addition. Pours with a large, frothy white head that dissipates quickly, leaving minimal lacing.

Aroma. High intensity. A sharp, clean lactic sourness reminiscent of lemon and sourdough bread is immediately met by a concentrated, sweet aroma of ripe Cantaloupe Melon. Very low floral esters; no hop aroma is present.

Taste. Intensely sour with a dominant lactic character. The flavor of fresh Cantaloupe Melon is prominent, providing a juicy counterpoint to the sharp acidity. A light, bready wheat malt flavor resides in the background. Hop bitterness is undetectable; the finish is very dry, crisp, and refreshing with lingering melon skin notes.

Mouthfeel. Medium body, which is significantly fuller than a standard Berliner Weisse. High carbonation provides a prickly, effervescent sensation. A subtle but noticeable alcohol warmth is present, complemented by a sharp, tongue-tingling acidity.
