Naparbier Black Blade is a commanding Imperial Stout that showcases a masterful blend of Roasted Barley, Chocolate malt, and Brown malt. It presents a profound obsidian depth with an intense aromatic profile of bittersweet chocolate, espresso, and a subtle herbal counterpoint from Hallertau Tradition hops. The inclusion of copos de avena (oat flakes) ensures a luxurious, velvety texture that carries the weight of its 10.1% ABV with grace. The palate reveals toasted bread notes from Pilsner malt and dark fruit complexity, culminating in a balanced, warming finish where roasty dryness and firm bitterness linger harmoniously on the tongue.

Appearance. Jet black and opaque (40+ SRM). It supports a thick, persistent deep tan to dark brown head with excellent lacing. High viscosity is apparent in the form of visible legs when swirled.

Aroma. High intensity with a rich, complex blend of dark chocolate, cocoa, and burnt grain. Prominent espresso-like roast from Roasted Barley and toasted biscuit from Brown malt. Very low herbal hop character from Hallertau Tradition. Low dark fruit esters resembling prunes or raisins, with a smooth, well-integrated alcohol presence.

Taste. Intense and multi-layered, featuring initial impressions of dark roasted coffee and bittersweet chocolate. The malt profile is deep, supported by toasty and slightly caramelly notes from the specialty malts. Medium-high bitterness provides a firm balance to the malt sweetness. Hop flavor is low and herbal. The finish is moderately dry with a long-lasting aftertaste of roast, cocoa, and gentle alcohol warmth.

Mouthfeel. Full-bodied, thick, and chewy with a velvety, luscious texture provided by the copos de avena. Carbonation is low to moderate. A smooth, noticeable alcohol warmth is present but remains background in nature, avoiding any harshness or solvent qualities.
