This collaboration Imperial Stout presents a massive sensory profile defined by its deliberate lack of adjuncts, allowing the raw intensity of roasted grains to shine. On the nose, a deep complexity of bittersweet chocolate, espresso, and black licorice emerges, accompanied by dark fruit esters reminiscent of dried figs and prunes. The palate is exceptionally thick and dense, coating the tongue with layers of charred malt and cocoa. A significant, well-integrated alcohol presence provides a comforting warmth, while a firm bitterness balances the residual sweetness. The finish is long and roasty, leaving a lingering impression of dark-roast coffee and velvety malt richness.

Appearance. Jet black and completely opaque (40+ SRM). Pours with a dense, persistent deep tan head that leaves oily lacing on the glass. High viscosity is apparent through prominent legs when swirled.

Aroma. High intensity aroma featuring a rich blend of dark chocolate, heavily roasted coffee, and subtle notes of black currants and raisins. A clean, warming alcohol presence is noticeable but smooth, complemented by a very low earthy hop character and a hint of burnt grain.

Taste. Initial impression is of intense dark-roast malt and bittersweet cocoa. Mid-palate reveals complex flavors of black licorice and dried plums. The bitterness is firm and assertive, preventing the high gravity from feeling cloying. The finish is moderately sweet but transitions into a lingering, dry, roasty aftertaste with a pleasant alcohol glow.

Mouthfeel. Very full-bodied with a chewy, luscious, and velvety texture. Carbonation is low to moderate, enhancing the beer's density. A smooth, significant warmth is felt without any harsh or solventy edges.
