This Imperial Stout presents a decadent sensory landscape, forged from a complex grist including Munich and Special W malts. It pours a viscous, opaque black, releasing intense aromas of toasted coconut and creamy vanilla. The inclusion of Carafa Special I and Caramunich III provides a deep roasted foundation of bittersweet chocolate and espresso. Columbus hops contribute a firm bitterness that anchors the massive 12% ABV, while Carared and oat flakes lend a luscious, velvety texture. A subtle hint of smoke mingles with dark fruit esters, culminating in a warming, lingering finish of charred grain and sweet spice.

Appearance. Jet black and opaque (40 SRM). Features a dense, deep tan head with moderate retention. High viscosity is apparent through visible legs on the glass.

Aroma. Intense and complex. Dominant toasted coconut and rich vanilla overlay a base of dark chocolate, espresso, and lightly charred grain. Low earthy hop character from Columbus is buried under high malt sweetness and noticeable but smooth alcohol warmth.

Taste. Massive initial impact of roasted malts, cocoa, and dark fruit prunes. The mid-palate is dominated by sweet coconut and creamy vanilla. Firm bitterness from both dark grains and Columbus hops prevents it from being cloying. The finish is long and warming with lingering notes of smoke and bittersweet chocolate.

Mouthfeel. Full-bodied and chewy with a velvety, luscious texture enhanced by oat flakes. Carbonation is low to moderate. Significant, smooth alcohol warmth is present without being harsh.
