Aroma. High intensity and exceptionally fruity; prominent scents of fresh lime zest and crushed mojito mint from the Motueka hops merge with a stone fruit bouquet of peach and apricot. A moderate funky complexity follows, suggesting wet hay and a light, earthy leather, alongside a subtle woody note from the barrel aging.
Taste. The initial impression is vibrantly tart and crisp. Dominant flavors of lime peel and juicy peach lead into a complex mid-palate of farmhouse funk and a faint, drying oak tannin. Malt presence is very low, providing just a hint of cracker-like graininess. Bitterness is low (approx. 15-20 IBU), allowing the acidity and hop oils to provide structure.
