This Double IPA showcases a vibrant tropical profile driven by an intensive dry-hop of Citra Lupomax, BRU-1, and Vic Secret. The specialized Pineapple Passion yeast from Yeast Canada enhances the sensory experience, layering deep notes of ripe pineapple and tangy passion fruit over a foundation of mango and zesty citrus. It pours with a characteristically hazy, opaque appearance and delivers an exceptionally smooth, creamy texture. While the hop intensity is high, the bitterness remains integrated, allowing the lush fruit esters and hop oils to lead into a clean, slightly warming finish that highlights the beer's strength and freshness.
Appearance. Deep gold to pale orange (7–9 SRM). Opaque and heavily hazy with a thick, persistent white head that leaves significant lacing.
Aroma. Intense tropical fruit aroma featuring prominent crushed pineapple and passion fruit. Secondary layers of mango and orange zest are supported by a clean, neutral grainy malt base. Fermentation esters are high and fruit-forward.
Taste. Dominant flavors of fresh pineapple and mango from the BRU-1 and Citra Lupomax, followed by a sharp passion fruit edge from the Vic Secret hops. Bitterness is moderate to firm but smooth, balancing a soft, bready malt presence. The finish is medium-dry with a lingering resinous and tropical fruit aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a creamy, velvety texture. Carbonation is moderate. A gentle, well-integrated alcohol warmth is present, consistent with its strength, with no astringency.
