Nano Cinco Patron presents a bold interpretation of a Double IPA, specifically a Triple New England style that delivers a massive sensory impact. The aromatics are dominated by an intense hop trio: Nectaron provides deep ripe nectarine notes, while Citra adds layers of tropical passion fruit. The inclusion of Nelson Sauvin, via both Cryo and Subzero Hop Kief formats, introduces a sophisticated sauvignon blanc grape character. Despite the robust 9.6% ABV, the palate remains remarkably fresh, supported by a silky, luxurious texture. It balances high-octane hop saturation with a smooth finish that avoids excessive harshness, emphasizing fruit intensity over aggressive bitterness.
Appearance. Deep gold to light orange (7–9 SRM). Heavily hazy to opaque with a dense, persistent white head that leaves thick, soapy lacing.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma. Explosive notes of passion fruit and mango from Citra, layered with the distinct stone fruit of ripe nectarine from Nectaron. A prominent vinous, white grape character from Nelson Sauvin is present. Very low, neutral, grainy-sweet malt in the background with a clean fermentation profile.
Taste. Initial impression is a saturated wave of tropical fruit. Strong flavors of nectarine and passion fruit lead, followed by a refined white wine and gooseberry finish. Malt flavor is low and soft, providing a pillowy base. Bitterness is firm and assertive but smooth, never harsh. The finish is medium-dry with a lingering resinous and fruity hop aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full to full body with a creamy, silky texture. Moderate carbonation. Noticeable, smooth alcohol warmth is present but well-integrated. No hop-derived astringency.
