Décennal presents a refreshing sensory journey inspired by the fusion of coffee and citrus. This Straight Sour Beer pours with a delicate pink hue reminiscent of lemonade, courtesy of whole lemons and strawberries. The nose is exceptionally complex, featuring the distinct peach, apricot, and guava notes of Castillo variety Colombian Diego Bermudez coffee, layered over a sharp lactic tartness and floral lilac. On the palate, a crisp lemony acidity leads into tropical fruit depth and a whisper of cold-brew elegance. Light and effervescent, it concludes with a bone-dry finish that highlights the vibrant, summery interplay of fruit and bean.
Appearance. Pale pinkish-amber (4-6 SRM); moderate white head with fair retention; slight haze from the fruit and coffee infusion.
Aroma. High intensity; sharp lactic sourness melds with fresh lemon zest and subtle strawberry. Significant fruit esters of peach and apricot alongside tropical guava and floral lilac from the coffee; low crackery malt; no hop aroma.
Taste. Dominant clean lactic acidity with an immediate lemon-lime zing. Mid-palate showcases juicy strawberry and stone fruit flavors from the coffee; hop bitterness is undetectable. Grainy, low malt presence; finish is very dry and crisp with lingering citrus and tropical notes.
Mouthfeel. Light body; high carbonation; refreshing and effervescent with a crisp, acidic bite and no perceived alcohol warmth.
