This collaboration between Nano Cinco and Messorem is a powerhouse Triple New England IPA showcasing 100% Nelson Sauvin hops from the 2024 Freestyle Hops selection. Pouring a dense, glowing haze, it radiates intense aromas of crushed white grapes, tropical passionfruit, and zesty grapefruit. The palate is exceptionally rich and velvety, delivering a wave of hop saturation supported by a soft, clean malt backbone. Despite its 9.6% strength, the alcohol is well-integrated, providing a smooth warmth that complements the lingering fruity finish. This mono-hop expression celebrates the unique terroir of New Zealand, resulting in a complex, fruit-forward sensory experience.
Appearance. Color is a hazy, glowing gold to light orange (6-8 SRM). Features a thick, persistent, off-white head with excellent retention and dense, soapy lacing. Significant opacity consistent with the New England style.
Aroma. Intensity is high, featuring prominent Nelson Sauvin notes of white grape, gooseberry, and tropical passionfruit, alongside bright grapefruit zest. A supportive, neutral, grainy malt character is tucked in the background. Fermentation is clean with very low fruity esters and a subtle, smooth alcohol presence.
Taste. Strong, complex hop flavors mirror the aroma with mango, gooseberry, and citrus pith. Bitterness is firm but smooth and well-integrated, avoiding any harshness. A soft, clean malt profile supports the hop intensity without becoming cloying. The finish is medium-dry with a lingering, resinous fruitiness and a clean, warming aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Full-bodied with a rich, creamy, and pillowy texture. Carbonation is moderate. Noticeable but restrained alcohol warmth is smooth and well-integrated, with no hop-derived astringency despite the high hopping rate.
