Amanecer presents a bright, thirst-quenching sensory profile inspired by the Mexican lager tradition. This International Pale Lager pours exceptionally clear with a pale straw hue. The use of corn in the grist provides a delicate, grainy sweetness that forms a crisp foundation for the unique New Zealand Pacifica hops. These hops contribute nuanced layers of orange marmalade and floral citrus, elevating the clean lager fermentation. At a sessionable strength, it balances a light malt presence with a dry, effervescent finish, making it a quintessentially refreshing choice for warm afternoons or as a clean palate cleanser alongside spicy tacos.
Appearance. Pale straw (2-3 SRM). Brilliant clarity and highly transparent. Features a white, frothy head with moderate retention that leaves fine lacing.
Aroma. Low to moderate intensity featuring a clean fermentation profile. Grainy, bready malt notes are accompanied by a subtle corny-sweetness. The Pacifica hops provide a low but distinct citrus and floral character, reminiscent of orange peel and soft herbal notes.
Taste. Initial impression is crisp and refreshing with a light grainy-malt flavor. A subtle corny sweetness is present but balanced by a medium-low bitterness (approx. 18-20 IBU). Hop flavors from the Pacifica additions offer delicate orange and floral qualities. The finish is well-attenuated, dry, and clean, with a very brief, neutral aftertaste of cracker.
Mouthfeel. Light body with a highly carbonated, bubbly texture. Provides a noticeable carbonic bite on the tongue that enhances the thirst-quenching quality. No alcohol warmth or astringency present.
