This New England Wheat IPA showcases a vibrant tropical profile through a calculated blend of Rakau, Wakatu, Citra, and Pacific Sunrise hops. The heavy addition of wheat results in an opaque, golden appearance and a characteristically silky, medium-full body. High-intensity aromas of zesty lime and ripe mango lead into a palate saturated with passion fruit and grapefruit notes. Despite its 7.2% ABV, the alcohol warmth remains smooth and well-integrated. As a Specialty IPA, it balances soft, doughy malt flavors with a restrained bitterness, ensuring the lush hop character and juicy yeast esters define the lingering finish.
Appearance. Deep gold to light orange; opaque haze with a dense, persistent white foam head and significant lacing.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring layers of crushed passion fruit, mango, and zesty lime from Wakatu and Rakau hops. Subtle citrus notes of grapefruit from Citra and Pacific Sunrise are supported by a light, bready, wheat-derived malt character and neutral fermentation esters.
Taste. Initial impression is a wave of ripe tropical fruit and grapefruit. Moderate-low bitterness supports flavors of mango, lime, and stone fruit. The malt flavor is bready and soft, providing a clean foundation that avoids any roasted or burnt character. The finish is smooth and juicy with a lingering tropical aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a signature silky and creamy texture derived from a high percentage of wheat. Moderate carbonation with a gentle, well-integrated alcohol warmth.
