This collaboration Wild Specialty Beer presents a vibrant sensory journey inspired by a Kiwi summer. It leads with an intense, jammy explosion of blackcurrants, providing a deep, tart fruit core. The addition of Tahitian Vanilla softens the sharp edges, lending a creamy, marshmallow-like roundness reminiscent of a pastry. A delicate dusting of Nutmeg adds a subtle, earthy warmth that grounds the fruit's brightness. The profile is a sophisticated balance of lactic acidity and residual sweetness, creating a lush, dessert-like experience that remains refreshing and easy to drink despite its complex, spiced-fruit layers.
Appearance. Striking deep magenta to royal purple hue (SRM 25-30) with a hazy, opaque body. Pours with a moderate, fine-beaded pinkish head that dissipates relatively quickly, leaving light lacing.
Aroma. High intensity aromatics of freshly crushed blackcurrants and dark berry jam. Prominent sweet Tahitian Vanilla notes provide a dessert-like creaminess, complemented by a light, woody spice from Nutmeg. A clean, lemony lactic tartness provides a bright backdrop to the rich fruit and spice.
Taste. The initial impression is a burst of tart blackcurrant flesh and skin, immediately followed by a wave of smooth vanilla sweetness. Low bitterness allows the fruit acidity to lead the balance.
