Morningcider Apple IPA
A vibrant, crisp Specialty Cider that bridges the gap between orchard and brewhouse. This punchy cider showcases a brilliant fusion of tart, fresh apple character with the distinctive aromatic profile of New Zealand hops. Motueka contributes bright lime zest and citrus undertones, while Nelson Sauvin offers sophisticated notes of crushed gooseberry and Sauvignon Blanc grapes. Appearance. Pale straw to light gold (SRM 2-4). Brilliant clarity with persistent, fine-bubbled carbonation. Lacks a sustainable beer-like head, though a thin white ring may form briefly before dissipating quickly, typical of the cider base.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring the hallmark Nelson Sauvin scents of white wine, gooseberry, and passionfruit, alongside the fresh lime and lemon zest of Motueka. This is backed by a clean, fresh-pressed apple base with notes of green skins and floral esters.
Taste. Initial impression is a burst of tart apple acidity followed by a wave of tropical fruit. Nelson Sauvin provides flavors of white grape and tropical fruit, while Motueka adds a citrusy punch. The finish is crisp and dry with a lingering lime-like tartness. Bitterness is very low, as the hop character is purely aromatic and flavor-driven.
Mouthfeel. Medium-light body with a crisp, sparkling carbonation that tingles the tongue. Very low astringency from the apple skins. A subtle, well-integrated alcohol warmth is present at the finish. Extremely refreshing and highly attenuated.
