This Red IPA presents a striking deep ruby-red hue, offering a sophisticated balance between robust malt and punchy hop character. The sensory profile is defined by a vivid interplay of Simcoe and Harlequin hops, which deliver a complex bouquet of resinous pine, bright citrus, and lush stone fruits. These hop-derived notes are layered over a foundation of toasted malts and light caramel, providing a sturdy, flavorful backbone without overwhelming the palate. The experience concludes with a clean, firm bitterness and a lingering hint of apricot and forest floor, capturing the quintessential character of a well-crafted Specialty IPA.
Appearance. Deep red to reddish-copper color (11–17 SRM) with excellent clarity. Pours with a persistent, off-white to light tan head that demonstrates moderate lacing.
Aroma. High hop intensity featuring distinct resinous pine and grapefruit citrus, complemented by stone fruit and berry-like esters. The malt profile offers supportive notes of toasted bread, biscuit, and a touch of dark caramel sweetness.
Taste. Hop-forward with an initial impression of peach and apricot, followed by pine needles and orange zest. The bitterness is firm and clean, supported by a medium malt backbone suggesting toasted grain and toffee. It finishes dry to slightly off-dry with a lingering resinous aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium body with a smooth, slightly creamy texture. Carbonation is moderate, and the 5% ABV ensures a crisp delivery with no perceptible alcohol warmth.
