Moonwake’s Passion Fruit Sour presents a vibrant, puckering tropical profile that immediately transports the palate to a sun-drenched paradise. This Wild Specialty Beer leads with an intense, tangy passion fruit character, balanced by a surprising rounded sweetness that softens the refreshingly tart edge. The fermentation provides a clean, acidic backbone that heightens the exotic fruit notes without overwhelming the senses. Appearance. SRM 3-5. Pours a hazy, golden-orange with a soft, white, frothy head that dissipates fairly quickly, leaving light lacing.
Aroma. High intensity passion fruit dominates the nose with secondary notes of tart lemon and a hint of bready malt. Clean lactic acidity is present without significant funk.
Taste. Immediate, sharp impact of tangy passion fruit followed by a refreshing, puckering acidity. A light, rounded sweetness provides balance to the tartness. The finish is short and clean with a lingering tropical fruit essence and very low hop bitterness.
Mouthfeel. Medium-light body with a smooth, silky texture that coats the tongue. Carbonation is moderate to high, providing a refreshing prickle that enhances the tartness.
