Moonwake Pacific Pale is a modern, sensory-forward take on an American Pale Ale that highlights the innovative Bract Brewers Programme. This beer showcases experimental New Zealand hops, specifically NZH106 and NZH109, which yield a vibrant profile of tropical fruit, zesty citrus, and delicate herbal undertones. A thoughtful malt bill featuring Extra Pale barley and oats creates a soft, luminous appearance and a remarkably smooth, plush body. While it maintains the style's signature crisp hop bitterness, the focus remains on the interplay between the velvety mouthfeel and the expressive, fresh hop character, finishing clean and refreshingly dry.

Appearance. Pale straw to light gold (approx. 5-7 SRM) with a soft, uniform haze. Crowned by a moderately large, creamy white head with excellent retention and fine lacing.

Aroma. High intensity hop-forward aroma featuring bright passionfruit, lime zest, and hints of crushed pineapple. Subtle herbal and spicy notes from the experimental NZH106 and NZH109 hops emerge as it warms. Malt is low and clean, offering a light bready and grainy character with no caramel or toast.

Taste. Initial impression is a burst of tropical mango and citrus peel. The malt flavor is neutral and grainy, provided by the Extra Pale barley, allowing the hops to lead. Bitterness is moderate and crisp but stays smooth, balancing the soft malt base. The finish is medium-dry and clean, with a lingering New World hop fruitiness and a faint, pleasant herbal aftertaste.

Mouthfeel. Medium body with a characteristic creaminess and smoothness attributed to the high oat content. Carbonation is moderate to high. Overall very smooth without any hop harshness or alcohol warmth.
