This vibrant Gose presents a deep violet hue, driven by the addition of significant quantities of blueberries. The nose leads with a bright, tart acidity and distinct jammy fruit notes, underscored by a subtle citrusy coriander edge. On the palate, a soft, doughy wheat malt backbone supports layers of tangy blueberry skins and a clean lactic sourness. A delicate pinch of sea salt enhances the mouthfeel, providing a savory counterpoint to the fruit. Refreshing and highly effervescent, it finishes bone-dry with a lingering pome fruit character and a refreshing, salt-kissed mineral snap.
Appearance. Deep purple to magenta (15-25 SRM from fruit); hazy and unfiltered. Thick, pink-tinted head with moderate retention; highly effervescent.
Aroma. High intensity. Dominant aroma of fresh, ripe blueberries and jammy fruit. Moderate sharp lactic acidity. Subtle background of citrusy, lemony coriander. No hop aroma. Low bready wheat malt and a faint, clean sea-breeze saltiness.
Taste. Initial impression is tart and fruity. Moderate-high lactic sourness balanced by a massive blueberry presence providing both juice and skin flavors. Low bready/doughy malt sweetness. Noticeable but restrained salt character provides a savory, mouthwatering edge. Coriander adds a bright, lemony lift. Very low bitterness; finish is very dry, crisp, and acidic rather than hoppy.
Mouthfeel. Medium-light body, made to feel rounder and thicker by the salt addition. High carbonation; very effervescent and tingly. Low alcohol warmth. No astringency despite the heavy fruit addition.
