Moon Sojourner is a bright, refreshing American Pale Ale that highlights a sophisticated four-hop blend. The dry-hopping of Citra and Amarillo drives a bold citrus profile of grapefruit and zesty orange, while late additions of Motueka and Mosaic contribute layers of fresh lime, crushed blueberry, and tropical mango. At 4.8% ABV, the beer remains light and accessible, supported by a clean, neutral malt backbone that provides a faint bready foundation without interrupting the hop focus. It finishes crisp and dry, with a lingering, pleasant bitterness that invites another sip, perfectly capturing the spirit of modern New World hop-forward ales.
Appearance.Pale golden hue (5–6 SRM) with brilliant clarity. Topped by a moderately large, white, creamy head with good retention and delicate lacing.
Aroma.Moderately high hop aroma featuring pronounced notes of lime zest, grapefruit, and tropical mango from the Motueka and Mosaic. Subtle floral and stone fruit undertones from the Amarillo and Citra dry-hop are evident. Malt character is low and clean, presenting as pale bread or light grain.
Taste.Initial citrus impression of orange and lime peel, followed by a mid-palate of tropical fruit and a hint of berry. Moderate hop bitterness provides balance against a lean, neutral malt base. The fermentation is clean with negligible esters. Finishes dry and crisp with a lingering but clean citrus-rind aftertaste.
Mouthfeel.Medium-light body with moderate to high carbonation that enhances the crisp finish. Smooth mouthfeel with no astringency and no noticeable alcohol warmth.
