The experience begins with a distinctive bouquet of mandarin and rich caramel, complemented by subtle, roasted coffee notes derived from a careful use of dark malts. A bready and toasty malt backbone provides a solid foundation for a firm, earthy hop bitterness. Despite its slightly higher alcohol presence for the style, it maintains an approachable character with a clean, dry finish that balances fruity yeast esters and biscuity malt depth.
Appearance. Dark amber (14 SRM) with brilliant clarity. Pours with a moderate, off-white head that shows fair retention and light lacing.
Aroma. Moderate intensity featuring bready and toasty malt with light caramel and a faint hint of coffee. Moderate fruity esters, specifically mandarin, are supported by a low, earthy hop aroma.
Taste. Initial toasted bread and caramel flavors lead to a medium-high bitterness. Fruity hop notes and mandarin esters are prominent, followed by a light roasted coffee character in the mid-palate. The finish is dry and clean with a lingering biscuity aftertaste and well-integrated bitterness.
