This West Coast IPA presents a modern, vibrantly aromatic profile defined by a precise blend of Mosaic, Riwaka, and Southern Cross hops. The sensory experience opens with an explosive bouquet of passion fruit and grapefruit zest, underscored by Mosaic's signature blueberry and tropical notes. A crisp, clean malt base provides a lean canvas for the hop intensity to shine, leading into a firm, resinous bitterness characteristic of the style. Subtle pine and peppery spice from Southern Cross emerge on the mid-palate, finishing bone-dry with a lingering citrus rind punch. It is a sharp, refreshingly bitter expression of the style.
Appearance. Brilliant, clear deep gold with an SRM of approximately 7. It supports a medium-sized, white head with excellent persistence and heavy lacing.
Aroma. High aromatic intensity dominated by New World hop notes of passion fruit, grapefruit, and ripe melon. Mosaic provides a light berry undertone while Southern Cross contributes subtle pine. Malt is low, clean, and grainy. No yeast esters.
Taste. The initial impression is sharply hop-forward with layers of citrus rind, diesel-like tropical fruit, and resin. Malt flavor is low and neutral, providing a light crackery support. Bitterness is firm and high. The finish is decidedly dry and clean, with a lingering bitterness and citrus aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium-light body with a smooth, crisp texture. Carbonation is medium-high, accentuating the dry finish. A very light, smooth alcohol warmth is present.
