Sud Sucker is a masterful expression of the Hazy IPA style, showcasing a complex, saturated hop profile. The double dry-hopping process utilizes Citra, Motueka, Nectaron, and Superdelic to create a layered sensory experience. Expect an explosion of overripe tropical fruits, lime zest, and stone fruit, underscored by a subtle red berry candy note. A soft, pillowy malt base provides a supportive, grainy-sweet foundation without being cloying. The finish is remarkably smooth with a restrained bitterness that emphasizes juiciness. This beer balances Monkish’s signature soft mouthfeel with an intense, multi-dimensional aromatic punch that lingers long after each sip.

Appearance. Deep straw to pale gold (4-5 SRM) with a dense, opaque haze providing a vibrant shine. Crowning the pour is a thick, rocky, meringue-like white head with exceptional retention and intricate lacing.

Aroma. High intensity aromatics lead with a burst of tropical passionfruit and pineapple from Nectaron, followed by the distinctive lime and lemon-zest punch of Motueka and Citra. Superdelic contributes unique notes of red currants and sweet fruit candy. The malt remains in the background as a neutral, lightly bready and doughy scent, with a clean fermentation profile and no detectable alcohol heat.

Taste. The initial impression is a saturated juice character, dominated by flavors of mango, peach, and citrus. Citra and Nectaron provide a lush stone fruit and grapefruit core, while Motueka adds a bright mojito-lime top note. Bitterness is low to medium-low, well-integrated and never harsh, serving only to balance the soft, bready malt sweetness. The finish is off-dry and clean, leaving a lingering impression of tropical fruit salad and light berry.

Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a soft, pillowy, and almost creamy texture. Carbonation is moderate, enhancing the fluffiness without being prickly. There is a very light, well-integrated alcohol warmth consistent with 7% ABV, and absolutely no hop astringency or harshness.

Sensory Profile.
