DDH Potholes is a quintessential Hazy IPA that radiates an intense tropical profile. The double dry-hopping regimen showcases a complex trio of Mosaic, Citra, and Vic Secret hops, yielding a vibrant bouquet of ripe pineapple, passionfruit, and sweet citrus zest. A soft, pillowy malt base of light grain and bread dough provides a plush canvas for these hops without adding cloying sweetness. The palate follows the nose with layers of mango and crushed blueberries, finishing with a gentle, restrained bitterness. Its smooth, velvety texture and clean fermentation character make this a remarkably approachable and deeply aromatic expression of the style.
Appearance. Straw to light gold (4-6 SRM). Opaque haze with a luminous, glowing shine. Thick, meringue-like white head with high retention and persistent lacing.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring notes of ripe mango, pineapple, and passionfruit from the Vic Secret, coupled with bright orange and grapefruit from Citra. Mosaic adds a subtle blueberry and earthy undertone. Malt is low, presenting as fresh bread dough or lightly grainy. Fermentation is clean with supportive fruity esters.
Taste. Initial impression is an explosion of tropical fruit juice. High hop flavors of peach, pineapple, and citrus zest dominate. Malt flavor is low to medium-low, providing a soft bready backbone. Perceived bitterness is low to medium-low, integrated smoothly without any harshness. The finish is off-dry and clean, with a lingering fruit-skin aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a soft, pillowy, and smooth texture. Medium carbonation. Alcohol warmth is light and well-integrated at 7.2% ABV. No hop astringency or mouth-coating slickness.
