NEIPA - New England IPA 6.6 º
DDH LA Hat presents as a vibrant Hazy IPA, epitomizing the soft, fruit-driven profile Monkish is celebrated for. This double dry-hopped offering features an expressive blend of Citra, Simcoe, and Centennial, resulting in an aromatic explosion of ripe mango, passion fruit, and bright lemon zest. The Citra provides deep tropical notes, while Simcoe adds layers of stone fruit and a subtle resinous complexity, anchored by the floral citrus lift of Centennial. A clean, bready malt backbone supports the massive hop saturation without adding sweetness. The finish is remarkably smooth and juicy, defined by a gentle bitterness and a pillowy, elegant texture.
Appearance. Straw to light orange (4-6 SRM). Opaque with a characteristic hazy shine. Large, rocky, white meringue-like head with excellent retention and thick lacing.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring tropical fruit, mango, and citrus peel. Subtle resinous pine and apricot notes emerge as it warms. Low bready-grainy malt; neutral fermentation profile with very low fruity esters.
Taste. High fruity hop flavors of nectarine, grapefruit, and tropical punch. Malt flavor is low and bready, providing a neutral canvas. Bitterness is medium-low and exceptionally soft, never sharp. The finish is off-dry and clean with a lingering fruity hop aftertaste and no harshness.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a soft, pillowy, and smooth mouthfeel. Moderate carbonation. No astringency or hop burn. Very light, well-integrated alcohol warmth.
