Beauty Standards is a vibrant expression of New Zealand hop artistry, showcasing a lush, sensory-driven profile centered on Nectaron, Nelson Sauvin, and Southern Cross. The aroma is dominated by intense bursts of sun-ripened peach, crushed gooseberry, and white wine grapes, supported by a subtle lemon zest and pine needle undertone. On the palate, the bold tropical fruit notes are underscored by a clean, light grainy malt backbone that allows the firm bitterness to define the finish. This American IPA balances modern Southern Hemisphere fruitiness with a crisp, dry exit, delivering a sophisticated and deeply aromatic drinking experience typical of its provenance.
Appearance. Straw to medium gold (approx. 6 SRM). Brilliant clarity to a very slight, hop-derived haze. Persistent, frothy white head with excellent lacing.
Aroma. High intensity. Punchy tropical notes of peach and nectarine lead, followed by the distinctive white grape and gooseberry of Nelson Sauvin. Subtle resinous pine and lemon citrus from Southern Cross emerge as it warms. Low, clean, cracker-like maltiness with no fermentation esters.
Taste. High hop flavor mirroring the aroma; ripe stone fruit, passionfruit, and Sauvignon Blanc grape characteristics. Medium-high bitterness that is clean and assertive. Low grainy malt flavor provides a neutral base. Dry, crisp finish with a lingering tropical and resinous aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium body with a smooth, soft texture. Moderate carbonation. Very light, well-integrated alcohol warmth. No hop-derived astringency.
