This collaboration Imperial Stout presents an opulent sensory experience, shaped by 12–14 months of bourbon barrel maturation. An intense profile of bittersweet chocolate and espresso roast is elevated by the rich, woody sweetness of maple syrup and the toasted, buttery character of roasted Pecan Nuts. Fragrant vanilla beans weave through the aroma, softening the high alcohol presence. On the palate, expect a dense, velvety liquid with layers of dark fruit, charred oak, and a lingering, decadent finish. The 12.6% alcohol provides a significant, smooth warmth that integrates seamlessly with the adjuncts and the deep, roasted malt foundation typical of this style.
Appearance. Jet black and opaque. Pours with a thick, dark tan head showing moderate retention; high viscosity and alcohol are visible as slow-moving legs on the glass.
Aroma. High intensity. Deep layers of dark chocolate, cocoa, and roasted coffee. The bourbon barrel aging contributes prominent notes of oak, caramel, and vanilla beans. Distinctive secondary aromas of earthy, toasted Pecan Nuts and the woody, sugary scent of maple syrup are present, alongside subtle dark fruit esters like prunes and raisins.
Taste. Rich and complex. Initial impression of decadent chocolate cake and maple syrup, followed by a mid-palate of roasted malts and buttery pecans.
